Sorry, I know it was about a week ago, but....

By the gods, you could be right....but it's no surprise that the crystal
shells seem to float in threes....

....in Planescape, there's something called the Rule of Threes. It applies
to a lot of things, but generally, a person native to (or familiar with) the
Outer Planes will look at two objects (or situations, events, etc.) and
swiftly ask, "Where's the third?"

I haven't reviewed the materials you base your triangle statements upon, but
if you're right, a planar would, in that respect, feel right at home in the
Spelljammer setting. Perhaps the Rule of Threes is reflected in the crystal
shells themselves!

Fine work! I didn't notice that pattern to the layout of the spheres. By the
moons, that all adds up!!
