Have you forgotten something? Illithd nautiloid...Neogi deathspider...No
illithid spiders I know of...

Tchya. Nobody (or hardly anybody) has the slightest idea there are Drow in
space. Nobody (or hardly anybody) would be throwing a monkeywrench in the
gears...Or, at least, not the sort that can't be fixed in a century or two.
It takes a spider a long time to build a web; throwing it away on orcy
tactics (hit it with a heavy rock!) seems so...useless...
Whereas, there'd be a great little end to an adventure.

"You notice the stars on the port side seem to be winking out. Eventually a
section of space the size of a planet is completely empty. Not only that,
the sun suddenly decides to join the stars, and it winks out too.
You notice the space devoid of stars is moving, getting larger...And then
the lookout falls to the deck, dead. A black crossbow bolt protrudes from
his neck at an unpleasant angle.

With a sickly crumpling sensation in the pit of your stomach, you realize
what the starless space means. A drow fleet is coming."

George LaValle,
Dunderpate At Large

Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void
without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known
anything about the true nature of the universe, anything at all, you would
have hidden from it in terror.
