I guess the feeling I hope will be offered is that the journey would be long enough, even given a skilled navigator who knew pretty much where he was going & had taken minute precautions, that the resources of a ship's air envelope, and food carrying capacity, under the best circumstances, would still be tested. Thus, any encounter or mistake in the phlo would mean the crew were put in danger, by the simple fact of how far they were from, well, anywhere. As it was in the years when the simple journey across the pond was a hazard in itself [too bad we have no hurricaines in space]. That would make it truely more of a frontier, far enough from 'civilized' space that you have to survive by wits & strength. > I don't know if we need to hammer down homeworlds for the freaky >races >in one sphere, but an idea might be to have colonies to those freaky >races located there. Perhaps the openning of the frontier, post-Unhuman-war sphere allows sudden access to this cluster that was previosuly closed as well? An errant flow river that suddenly reconnected? Good enough! When do we continue? :) ~ADA~ _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
