Only you've done exactly that and now are being petulant that people don't
agree with your and TSR's completely unreasonable and illogical decisions.
You've chosen to make a fleet that could get together or move together attack
a world (an entire planet!) and decided what forces there are, what political
conflicts there are, how things are organized, how much each side knows, and
so on. And TSR did the same thing all the while ignoring the rules they
created. WotC (and it's many ex-TSR employees) have even admitted their
novels don't ever make any attempt to follow game rules (and I'd argue much of
any logic at all, such as a Shou embassy in what city? With Shou ships
where?) which is part of the reason they designed 3e the way they did.

You have to fight with what you have. That's why the constant

Because you want numbers you make up and not the logic that SJ rules prevent
certain things? Now what's worthless? I remember your little asteroid battle
and how much you had to set things up so the scro could win. The elves didn't
bother to watch the area, weren't alert. The elves relied on a few tiny
ships. Etc. Of course you did point out some rules flaws such as the fact
that larger weapons have less range than smaller ones so a ship with medium
weapons can bombard a stationary target with heavy weapons and using light
weapons (the best ranged weapons available) doesn't allow you to do hull
damage (at least some don't IIRC). Others have pointed out how useless most
ship-to-ship weapon battles are since most ships have enough hull points that
without a few lucky criticals you'll run out of ammo long before you run out
of ship!

They say absolutely nothing of value about the

Right. Only you and TSR can and both of you did. To the extreme.

 Would the elves have

Because you say so. Right. I get out my text editor and edit what you've
sent. Now anything I want can happen too and we're all on even ground again.
Oh yeah, and like you and TSR I'll ignore the SJ rules while I'm at it.

Do you really think I'd admit to stealing that much money in my email sig?
Uhh, don't answer that.

The crazier the people are around me the saner I am. That's why I work in
an asylum. No, not the rubber room again! No, but, but, my email...
