Spelljammer is a setting designed for the 2nd edition AD&D game. Those are the rules it is designed to follow. Attempting to bring it into the so-called "3rd edition" is no different from trying to bring it into GURPS--an interesting personal sideshow for some people, but hardly in line with the setting. Scro paladin/ranger/mage/cleric/thief/bards are not part of Spelljammer. Spelljammer is a no-longer-published setting for a no-longer published system. I've already left one list because of "third edition". I don't particularly want to leave this one, but all discussions currently seem to be focused on it.
