I fully agree. I am not sure if the above is actually a response to
what I wrote or just a point you want to make (which is perfectly
vaild).
But, if you were responding to me, I want to say I didn't mention
playing the game, or that people need to play it to have an opinion.
Rather, I was saying that people are making negative comments
based on minimal information, not overall comments about how
they feel about the game. I agree, you don't need to actually play
3e to make such comments. But, I have seen comments that
have criticized 3e that I could tell were based on lack of information,
people bashing specifics without knowledge of those specifics.
That was my point. After playing RPGs as long as I have, I do
agree a person doesn't necessarily have to have experienced a
game directly to know it is for them. I do think it helps, and
sometimes people will be suprised, but some people just know
their own tastes.
