Yes I read that before (if feels like a nudge when dropping out of
spelljammer speed).  But what about the propulsion ?  How do sails effect
the MC rating ?  If they are important why do some ships little or none ?

The inertial damperner effect is actually covered by the rules. so is the
issue of acceleration and suden drops from spelljamming speed. and it states
that no effect is felt from either of these action IIRC.
