know if this is the case at what point does the gravity plane begin to
dissipate as the ship enters and exits a large gravity plane. I don't mean
this to be a a scientific explanation of gravity as some members are
disposed to make it. i just mean it to clarify something that would only
enhance gameplay. I think this would be a really good article and am looking
for insight from other list members so i can write it up and post it to the
list.

Didn't mean to make this a long post

ok..

IIRC, the gravity plane of any smaller object (vessel or otherwise)
automatically shifts to that of a larger object (or ship), adn the air
envelopse automatically mix (thats why its a good idea to use
wreckboats/teleportation when inspecting old hulks etc with fouled air, u
only bring back a lil fouled air instead of mixing the two together.

i cant remember the reference to specific pages ro rules, but im quite sure
thats boxed set info.

so yeah, IIRC, no one has control over the gravity plane (i believe the hull
of the ship defines it), nor the atmospheric envelope. the air envelope
does drop when the helm is down though, and presumably the gravity might -
but i dont ermember erading either way on the grav part. In any case, no
one has any control over it whatsoever

course, ive been wrong before :)
