Til's 2 cents ;)

Well, the way i see it, is that Spelljammer is one of themost customiseable
campaign settings out there. Forgotten realms: you change one major NPC,
and u can have repurcussions over the whole place. Dragonlance: quite a
lot of rules, add something in, and u hafta be careful. Darksun: even
think of taking out psionics and its dead. Ravenloft; we wont go there,
but suffice to say its not half bad, just a bit to dark.

Whereas spelljamemr, its so easy to change a little thing, or a big thing,
and do whateevr we want. We dont have the thousands of books like forgotten
realms to worry about, nor do we have the thousands of rules from other
campaign settings.

What we do have, is a beautiful place where magic is THE answer, where
physics is outt he window (and gives the Dm a lot mroe freedom here and
there), and where so much can be changed. For instance, in my campaign, as
much as i have ingrained them into my life atm by concentrating on them, the
Kuras do not exist, and nor do the scro. In a friends, we are using a mana
crystal sysetm i developed, and are about to start using different types of
helms, wherein a mage has a mana crystal in his head, (which slowly
regenerates on off-duty time), which powers the helm of the ship, and things
like that.

Now this is where all of us come in. I think were all doing a good job as
it is. We write something up, and if we wanna use it, we do, if not, well
we dont even hafta read it. Personally, i dont even consider the TSR
released books "canon". A good example is how much people have changed
things like including or discluding cloakmaster, that can be a great change.

Anyawy, the real point is this, i think all we need to do, is keep pumping
things out, keep the creativeness flowing, and above all TALK TO EACH OTHER
about the game. I havent even received one word about about the Kuras, and
haev only had about oo hrmm.. 5 lines overall comment on ALL the stuff ive
posted for SJ, excluding the quarter-class thing which was mroeso generic.
Meanwhile, we have the bset site in the world as far as collecting our
articles go, spread out over a wide range of subjects, but i must ask the
question of why things haev been so slow on it lately? I'm trying not to
sound like im complaining, but ive sent quite a few things in, and quite a
few emails, and im wondering if they even got through, cuz ive had no reply.
Sorry if u havent received anything static, but if u have, a reply would be
nice ;)

BUT static is under no obligation to put up everything we put on here. It's
his site afterall, and his responsibility for taking care of it, and as hes
said he has a lot of RL probs keeping him busy.

So heres what im thinking. What if we have a diff site. Now dont all get
upset, i have the uptmost respect for statics site, i have handed the URL
out to nearly everyone i come accross even interested in D&D (let alone SJ)
as one of THE best resources out there (just take a look at how many of us
nominated it when wizards piped up), but i think maybe we need mroe of a
communal thing. The list is great for posting things, but emails have their
size limits, and can be lost easily. Systems go down and other ppl delete
thigns very often.

But, if we can find a decent enough sized-area, and shared a communal
account to put things up, we could have our very own communal library of
material, without one person having to be responsible for it. Now im not
saying we just hand the password out to every tom dick andharry, i think
we'd have to make sutre its not beign given to ppl whoe are going to be too
liberal, or perhaps we could have seperate accounts for everyone (though i
dislike that idea, because some ppl will use a little ammount of space
whereas others will need a lot).

Anyway. What's ppl's thoughts on that. A communal library, where we all
take care of it (and promote it!), and share our stuff, without having to
lay so much on the shoulders of static?

He's doing and done a great job, but RL is more important, and if we can ALL
share this sort of thing, then we can do a better job of keeping it up.
