Subject: Re: cannon council and the Oficial SJ site
I have been a part of this list since March of last year. I still remember
that whole astrounauts guild incident. I have been a lurker for most of that
time. When i heard that TSR was making an official spelljammer site i was
over joyed. I don't know about all of you but i have a book case full of
AD&D 2nd edition material. I once attempted to see how much i had spent over
the years on material since 1994, i stopped at about one thousand when i
realized i was not even half way done. At first i thought it was a joke when
TSR contemplated a third edition. and then when it became a reality(which is
when i decided to appraise my collection) I had words that are better not
mentioned. with all that said, I have been following that countdown in the
pages of dragon and all that went through my head was, man that is a good
idea, i wonder how i could use it for spelljammer.
If done right, 3rd edition could open up spelljammer to see quality
print. My favorite posts are still the Mecha Jammer posts. trying to make
robotech part of spell jammer was a cool idea. but to be honest it really
would have no place in an official SJ site without some reworking.
there needs to be some sort of barrier to seperate the cool ingeneous ideas
that would enable submitted material to be part of the greater whole. In
many of the supplaments that are out there, in the introduction they state
that the rules are there to be taken or not by each individual DM or GM to
use to improve his game.
All that said(personal plug) I would love to be part of the council and
therefore i nominate my self. The only things i can offer are. a flexible
schedule, time to devote to the task. access to many of the core
materials(not all). permanent home access to the internet and email, and an
open point of view.
Vote for me, i promise no new air taxes! I will also take bribes and
support the tabaco companies.
