This might be true, however it would take some time. After all Space
is a big place.
But I have no problem with this. In my game there are all sorts of
tech levels and Magic levels. There are civilizations with Star Trek tech as
well as that of the current Spell jammer level. They have yet to run into
one another (but someday they will.)

Well if your universe is small then yes these things will be a thing
of the past, but if you play in large setting then there will always be a
section of space were these things are alive and well. Besides you can set
your campaign in what ever time period you want.

I see nothing is lost in this. I hate stagnant campaigns, so If the
campaign last over several hundred years or so then I sure don't want
everything to remain unchanged with out a damn good reason. This to me kills
the flavor of any campaign.
