And it does make perfect since that a race with little magic > would develop in a technological manner. > The Elves have the powerful magic, so let the Scro have technology. the problem is that while you can limit the spread of magic, technology has this way of spreading within a few years. once the scro start using these weapons in combat, the entireity of known space will be using winchesters and revolvers within a short space of time. flintlocks, baldly put, are lousy enough not to affect the game too much. late 19th century weaponry will render existing weapons largely obsolete. no more swordfights. no more dwarves with axes. no more robin hoods or william tells. no more knights in armour. that's the flavour of the game. that's what you'll lose. -- rad. danger, deep water.
