        Was the First War fought with modern technology?  Smokepowder wasn't
around back then (I think).  Neither were some of the newer ships, like
Shrikeships and Battle Dolphins.  Major helms were probably in their
infancy.  Even Bral wasn't around -- at least in its modern incarnation.

        So quite a bit of technological and magic development happened,
which is interesting since lots of advancements happen *during* wars, not
between them.

        But people can do what they want in their campaigns... :)
