General Kyo is a scros scro. He stands 68 and weighs 277 lbs. He is
only 35 years old, fairly young for a scro general. His Mohr Kraz is the
study of elven art. Kyo is the commander of Gamaro base in function but
he is subservient to General Falchatz detailed below. Falchatz spends
little time away from the morag and is often reporting back to
Dukagshspace to update the Almighty Leader, so Kyo runs into Falchatz
rarely.
Kyo has access to many weapons and items of magic on board Gamaro and
has legions of troops and ships at his call. He is patient, but not as
patient as Falchatz. Kyo enjoys shipboard life and views himself as
master of the largest vessel in the spheres (he believes the Spelljammer
herself to be a myth.)
Kyo likes Falchatz but thinks little of him as their paths rarely meet.
Kyo would like nothing better than to fire Slaine from Gamaros Great
Bombards into the sun. Kyo is a little intimidated by Timok as he had a
rough encounter with a black scromage as he rose through the ranks.
General Falchatz- LN Scro Male, F 15/ PS 6, S 17 D 16 C 16 I 19 W 17 Ch

Falchatz is among the most patient and far sighted scro. He is 67 and
270 lbs and 53 years old. General Falchatz was the first general
dispatched to Gamaro after discovery of the marauder. He was among the
first to encounter the morag as well. After completion of the base and
the morag relations solidifying, Falchatz was assigned to be the
ambassador and general in charge of morag research.
Because of his more neutral leanings the morag have come to trust the
scro more readily and they have assisted them in many things. A few years
ago one of them helped Falchatz uncover his latent abilities and began
training him as a Psionicist. Treat him as dual classed.
His attack modes are Psionic Blast, Mind thrust and Psychic Crush.
Defense modes are Intellect Fortress, Mind Blank and Though Shield.
Sciences are Mindlink, Metamorphosis and Energy containment. Devotions
are heightened senses, cognitive trance, adrenaline control, splice,
accelerate, body weaponry, cellular adjustment, fighting trance,
convergence, psychic messenger and mind bar.
Falchatzs Mohr Kraz is vanished civilizations, which made him well
suited to understanding the morag. Falchatz is the only scro aware that
the morag now live on the planet within the hollow sun, and it is a
secret he has sworn to keep for now. Falchatz enjoys working with the
morag and has a bond with Maelash in particular who is head of the morag
contingent. However Maelash and Falchatz are both wise enough to know
that the winds of war could turn at any time causing an end to their
cooperation efforts. For now he is content to explore his new abilities
and continue cooperative ventures with them as doing so aids his cause.
Although not so evil in nature Falchatz has no love for the elves and
fully intends to assist in their destruction.
Falchatz possesses a powerful weapon that he won in battle long ago, a
Heroslayer long sword. This long sword is kept in a special sheath lined
with lead and the handle is wrapped with thick leather bands.
When drawn the Heroslayer begins to immediately draw in energy around it
and appears as a solid black blade. It functions in combat as any other
+4 long sword, but additionally it drains life energy from any living
creature within a 10' radius that is not immune to life level draining
(e.g. undead, golems etc.) This includes allies or enemies. Any creature
within that radius in the first round will see the light around them dim
as if drawn into the sword, and they will feel suddenly sluggish. They
must make a saving throw vs death magic (no penalty) or they will lose
one level, one strength point and ten hit points. If they successfully
save they suffer no ill effects. At the end of the second round they must
save again with a -1 penalty and so on (3rd rd -2, 4th rd -3, etc). If
level, strength or hp reach zero the character immediately passes out and
can be easily captured or dispatched. Should they not be slain they will
revive in 3-6 hours (1d4+2) with at least one point in each category
drained. Hit points and levels are restored to full in one day of rest,
strength at three points per day.
The bearer of the weapon is not affected by the drain, and can
supplement his own strength, level and hit points (when any creature is
within range and still conscious and fails a save) by a max of one level,
one str point (20 percentile points) and ten hp per creature in the area
of effect, to a maximum of twice their current level, hp or two str
points over their racial max. So a Scro wielding a Heroslayer with 17
str, 4th lvl fighter and 27 hp engages four elves. In the first round he
closes and draws his weapon and misses, they miss also. At the end of
round two elves fail their save and lose points. The Scro is now 18/20
str, 6th lvl fighter and 47 hp. All miss again and all the elves fail
saves. The Scro is now 18/00 str, 8th lvl fighter (max twice level) and
54 hp (max twice regular hp). Next round the Scro would be 20 str, 8th
lvl fighter and 54 hp, a fearsome opponent.
Obviously most opponents learn to keep their distance and use magic or
missile weapons against foes with these weapons.
Falchatz tolerates Kyo as he thinks the young upstart is impetuous at
times, but he has learned respect for Kyos methods. Falchatz and Timok
have the closest relationship but they are not bonded. Falchatz barely
restrains himself from killing Slaine because he is Dukagshs anointed.
High Warpriest Slaine- NE Scro Male Pr/Ma 10/10, S 16 D 12 C 13 I 17 W 16
Ch 7,
Hp 53, AC 0 (Spiked Leather +5, One handed weapon style bonus +2)
Weapons: mace, footmans +3 (wpn choice and expertise) #Att 3/2
Slaine is the highpriest of Gamaro, and is more than willing to remind
anyone about it. He has an irritating personality that is quite a
detriment to his goals and dealings with other scro and races. His
position of power he lords over others thus contributing to his
personality failing. Slaine is 7 tall and rather thin at only 260 lbs.
He is 47 years old, young for a highpriest.
As a spellcaster however Slaine is talented. All his spell casting times
are reduced by one. As highpriest of Gamaro, Slaine has access to a vast
amount of spells and has even researched a few of his own which he has
not shared with the other scro as is normally required. Kyo and Falchatz
are aware of Slaines shortcomings and are waiting for a suitable
replacement to come along. Dukagsh also is waiting for an opportune time
to send Slaine on a special quest to remove him from Gamaro.
Slaine dislikes everyone, unless they completely kowtow to his whims.
Those that do may find favor for a time but immediately discover that it
is fickle. Slaine has a secret longing for Timok as well but is wise
enough to not interfere with the powerful pair of scro.
Arch Scromage Timok Darkmage- LN Scro Female Ne 14, S 10 D 12 C 14 I 18 W
17 Ch 13, Hp 42, AC -2 (Bracers AC 2, Ring Prot +2, One hand fight style
+2) Weapons: Dagger, revolver
Timok is an accomplished and powerful black scromage at an early age of
43. Timok is 63 and 252 lbs. Perhaps more than any other scromage
before her she has understood the balances of life and death within the
body. Her opportunity to study alongside the morag has certainly helped
as well. Timok has done much research into the darkside of necromancy but
also into the details of life and how living organisms function. Her
complement of spells reflect her knowledge. She has also researched many
spells of her own devising all of which can be found in the libraries of
the black scromages, and a few in the books of the Warpriests as well.
Timok despises Slaine and views him as an impediment to her work as he
often conflicts her time in the research lab with warpriest rituals that
force her to wait.
Timok favors Falchatz and the two have 12 children in common, but she is
now past birthing years. They are being raised on Dukagsh by family as
Timok and Falchatz are too important to leave service now to raise young.
Timok respects Kyo and they work well together.
Maelash of Morag- LN Morag Male Ma 23, S 11 D 11 C 14 I 19 W 17 Ch 16, Hp
50, AC 5 (Robe Archmagi) Weapons: None (Choice and Expertise in Dagger)
Maelash is 184 years old, 65 and 267 lbs. His life has been magically
extended to its current point and Maelash resembles a 40 year old scro.
Maelash is the head of the morag that work with the scro on Gamaro. He is
the most powerful person on Gamaro and also the least involved. Few know
he exists and he rarely sees those that do.
Maelash is painstaking in his approach to matters and thus finds much
common ground with Falchatz. He finds Slaine amusing and Kyo is no more
than an acquaintance to him. Maelash finds Timok quite provocative and
enjoys teaching her personally.
Maelash has several powerful spells in place on his person and powerful
items in his possession or easy to obtain. His spells tend to reflect a
creative approach to life rather than combat oriented, but he is quite
capable of using any tool given him to meet his requirements.
AUTHORS DISCLAIMER
This rewrite of Gamaro was a large endeavor. Many of the details of the
base assume several new ideas and abilities or concepts for the scro. If
you find that perhaps scro with old style machine guns are not to your
liking feel free to pair back on some of the concepts offered. I do
recommend that all of the new ideas be carefully considered and thought
out as well by the DM. You may find that they create certain unique
features and flavor for the scro and make them different than your
average run of the mill bad guy. Its possible that you could even limit
the more dangerous scro innovations to Moragspace alone or tone down some
of the numbers. In any event enjoy and if you have questions, please post
them.
