You have a good point, but they have psionics aswell.  The reason they are
so powerful is basically to give the Arcane a real headache, and theyve been
carefully protecting their sphere for years now against the more violent
races in their region, hence the ultra-powerful protection stuff.

One point id like to make tho, is that one wouldnt really use his magical
powers unless Mother or something almost as important was in trouble.  He
might fireball a group of people about to kill him. but isnt likely to
outright DBF them or something, theyre non-combative basically, only having
such magic for again, the reason of the violent races around their
homesphere.

im planning to do a big description of the ritual to turn a slavebug into a
fatboy, but i havent got the time atm.  anyone can feel free to write
something similar if they want, as it might help everyone else and i dont
have time atm.
