Small Ships (10-35 tons) for an Adventuring Group

Having looked over the various small ships(10-35 ton range) as listed in
the WCC, I am trying to figure out the best ship for a mid level
adventuring party to use, since in the campign I am playing in, the
galleon, just made it to Bral.  We are thinking of scrapping the ship and
buying a new one, and reusing a minor helm.  As we expect to get into lots
of naval combat, as well as landing on worlds, we need something that can
accomplish both, and be crewed with the smallest amount of people possible,
and be afforable.  A vipership would be ideal, but its out of the groups
price range (35000 gp tops) so that elimantes that ship.  The ships I have
thought of so far that would be useful include the angel ship, shrike ship,
wasp, or a upgraded eagle ship (replacing jettisons with catapults).  Has
any one else found effective ships in the low weight class range that are
useful for adventurers.  Thanks for the help.
