Which is why I always decide what proficiencies apply to any ship when
I make it up.  It doesn't take long to say this ship has sail
manipulation, phlogiston navigation (in case a chase ensues), and a
reasonable number of people with fire fighting.  2 crew also have
large weapon proficiency and the crew overall is trained but not crack
because they have a lot of new hands.  Simple and less time than it
takes to come up with a ship name (let alone the names of any
important survivors).
