Ya, that's where I'm getting my info on the CD myself (and remembering
*why* I left newsgroups for listserves...less "colorful metaphores"
being thrown back and forth between the same dozen or so people:)
Anyways, I don't know what's 'really' going on at TSR myself, but I
just remember that when TSR employees always talk about products, they
usually say that they have a backlog of products for something like 2 or
3 years. Meaning that from conception to finished product, it takes
somewhere around 2-4 years to produce. Which, IF they are having
scanning problems, raises an interesting question: are they going to
edit it? Editing takes a great deal of time, and if they're still
scanning *now* (getting close to June), and it's due out in, say, August
(end of 3rd quarter), and it takes *at least* a month to stamp, print,
and ship, that leaves them less than 2 months to finish it, edit it, and
get it to CD makers. Makes me wonder if this is going to their WORST
edited product ever, with pages missing, poor screen quality, blurred
images, etc.
