UNPC: Deepsong

Proof that NPCs need not be humanoid!  Please give a little leeway with
this one; it's the first time I've created a psionic character.

Appearance: Deepsong looks like a typical kindori whale with a length of
80 feet.  His hide color varies with his current position; near fire
bodies such as stars, his hide takes on the color of the fire body in
rich color (typically golden-red).  In deep space, his hide darkens to a
light to dark gray, depending on distance from a light source.  In the
flow, his hide becomes rainbow colors, with various shades of red, blue,
and yellow sliding off his hide like oil on water.  Deepsong has not
mouth and a line of a dozen eyes along his front most edge.  He moves
through wildspace with far more grace than almost any ship built today.

Background: Deepsong originated from Songspace, a sphere dominated by
tens of thousands of kindori.  Deepsong was, however, a freak of genetic
mutation.  He was always far more intelligent than his fellow kindori,
capable of psionic powers.  He also could sing music that could be heard
by humans and humanoids.  Deepsong spent many years meeting occasional
spelljammers, singing music for them and psionically communicating with
them.  He earned a reputation in the sphere as the "Kindori Bard of the
Spheres," and encountering him was considered a sign of luck (if not the
favor of the gods).  Even lizardmen whalers would not harm the creature,
as even they were swoon by his music.
	Deepsong traded valuable knowledge with various captains, and learned a
great deal about other spheres.  After four centuries of dwelling in the
vastness of Songspace, Deepsong left the sphere to discover and explore
the farthest reaches of wildspace.  He has passed through more than a
score of spheres, learning much about local cultures, politics, and most
importantly, music.  Deepsong desires to learn all forms of music, so he
could be encountered participating in a symphony with an elvish
Man-o-War, listening to a rowdy scro sailor's song, or enjoying the
finer points of dwarvish opera.
