One other thing. Aside from being rather monomaniacal, the wizard I'm thinking of is extremely intelligent, and very experienced. (No use testing a trap with runts.) That's why I'm pulling out every trick in the book to use--if this were just any attacker, setbacks such as the Repulsion would probably be enough. In fact, I stated in my original message that an incautious wizard would almost certainly fall victim to the trap, and that some of the proposed countermeasures relied on a measure of inside knowledge about the trap. I don't buy into the DM school of: "I shot you with my gun." "Yeah, well I was wearing body armor." "Yeah, but I had explosive shot." "Yeah, but my force field stopped it from detonating." It's just that any attacker with time on his hand should, if he was wise, be as paranoid and patient as possible. If one probe fails, don't rush it, just try again another day. Hemlock
