Thats a very interesting hypothesis... slavery equals lower technology. I may
use that, but at the same time, I think it isn't always true, especially when
you remember the huge discussion a few years ago on "How were the pyramids
built?"

These Historians, Egyptologists, and Architects were trying to figure out how
the stones were lifted up the face of the great pyramid, and nobody could
figure it out. The ropes wouldn't have been strong enough. The sand wouldn't
have supported enough weight, and neither wood rollers nor wooden beams were
long enough nor strong enough based upon everything we did know.

Along came some masons and bricklayers, one of which had a degree in
engineering. He had the question for three days sitting on his desk and out he
comes with a completed and working hypothesis. They had this really ADVANCED
system of pulleys and swivels with no moving parts other than slaves and
ropes. They could move these huge building blocks with soft woods and vines
with sand underfoot.

Sometimes higher tech is a question of perspective. I think what we need here
is a new term, like advanced understanding, but lower tech?
