The two were already connected in the SJ novels -- in book 4, The
Radiant Dragon, I believe. The book said that arcane hang out with reigar
and put into production the more marketable ideas -- such as helms.
I actually like that connection. :) It keeps the reigar aloof
and distant, and the arcane as greedy technology thieves.
