Death sentences not in SJ

Can we please bring the discussion of death sentences out of reality
and personal views and around to SJ.  For instance:  What are the
crimes/punishments of various organizations/spheres/races?  How do
they deal with outsiders (IEN and Company of the Chalice bring their
law and order to others, with scro or neogi you're scr***d just by
meeting them anyway, beholders will probably ignore you unless your
another beholder or you do something stupid like attack, neogi and
illithids use slavery followed by death on everyone--even their own
kind if you're a neogi)?  Do the Chainmen have a law against enslaving
each other?  If I'm a Chainman and I attack another Chainman ship to
take the crew as slaves is this a crime or just discouraged (unless I
chose a Chainman ship that was giving everyone else a bad name or no
one else liked the captain/crew of)?
