My solution to capital punishment IMC is the polymorph spell. If the individual
is found guilt of a capital crime for which the sentence is death, he is
instead subjected to a polymorph other spell. If he dies from system shock,
that is that except for the casting of a Lay to rest Ceremony spell. Otherwise
s/he is transformed into a useful creature and kept in custody until mental
change takes place.
