Actually I once toyed with an idea where "realspace" (or it's fantasy
analog) is indeed a HUGE crystal sphere. Huge as in several million
megaparsecs in radius. The other crystal spheres float around in the flow
outside of this huge one, like globular clusters outside of a major galaxy.
But even within the big sphere, the laws of wildspace are the same. But
getting from one star system to another is quite difficult because you
can't use the flow to assist you.
