Hi there, >And the base starting age for humans, in the 2nd Ed AD&D PHB, is >1d6+15, IIRC. At that age, the character's stats are at their max >and he's ready to rumble as an adventurer. Just to be a smart-ass again: The starting age for humans in the second edition is 15+1d4. You probably recalled the starting age for half-elves. >Seems like the guys at TSR put maturity at age 16 as well. Of >course, some people never mature, but that as an aside... :) So it seems indeed. Well, in my campaign I do not let my players roll for starting age, but let them pick it. Most of them chose 18 anyway, in order to have their life ahead of them and so that ageing via haste / spelljamming travel does not effect them too much. However I have too often encountered people, who are 10+ years older than me and who are not taking me serious for that age-difference. Well, this is one of the thing that's REALLY bugging me and so ass-jerk non player characters in my campaign display the same habit and so choosing a starting age of 35 (which is not at all, mind you) sometimes pays off.
