This is said expressly in > the PHB, if you should choose to read up on it. ::sigh:: Hand out references and a little info to everyone and someone will always use it as a scythe instead of a paring knife. I have read the PHB. 2nd Edition even. Personally I don't find it nearly as good as the 1st Edition PHB and I'd rather spend my time reading a Jordan or Brooks novel any day. But that's just me. In the PHB those are specialty priests (read under the heading "Priests of Specific Mythoi" I believe) that it gives _examples_ of using edged weapons. > B) Paladins are not "specialty priests." They are warrior class characters, > having nothing to do with the priesthood aside from being associated with > whatever god. Maybe that's the way you play. Personally my paladins interact with their associated priesthoods all the time. In fact they find this a really good idea in case they need an _atonement_ (no one's perfect). The point on paladins, however, was that they are as dedicated and specially restricted by their gods (those that accept paladins--note carefully that this is not all gods, unlike clerics, generally speaking) as specialty priests and thus must follow their strictures as absolutely as any specialty priest. Oh yeah, and TSR has shown they do consider paladins and even rangers to be specialty priests in many cases in F&A and P&P. Having only my P&P here I specifically point to Gwaeron Windstrom for an example of this. It's all how the god wants to do it. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
