Glad I don't play in your campaign. I can do as I please as long as I am willing to accept the penalties. Druids are a class, not a deity specific specialty priest. So if I choose to wear metal armor I can't use my druidic spells as metal prevents my connection with the natural world. When I take it off my spells are still there and I can now cast them again. I might also lose access to certain NWPs such as tumbling, juggling, and tightrope walking because of my unfamiliarity with operating in metal armor. Same with a cleric with a sword. He can't become proficient in it (no clerics are out there able or willing to teach him) but if he wants to pick one up to use so be it, he suffers those nasty non-proficiency penalties and possibly others (such as when someone tries to disarm him they have an even better chance, etc.). With a specielty priest of a certain god I would generally agree (though it would still depend on the god, for instance if I was an SP of Mask from the Realms and I wanted to use metal armor to help perpetrate a crime I sacrifice spells and thief skills while in the armor but get them back when I'm unarmored since I'm violating normal strictures to follow my deity's aims) but that is because an SP accepts such specific trade offs and has such a specific connection to their god. Gneral clerics and druids (and rangers) don't, they are just limited by class restrictions. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
