Also, where does it say that wepaon specialization gives you Ac bonus? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just asking for a reference cause I dont recall one way or another. Oh ,and Staffan, clerics can use any armor. Read the PHB. It's not a weapon specalization, well not exactly anyway. It is a 'style specilazation' out of the Fighter's Handbook. Basically, with Single Weapon Style you use a light, one handed weapon in melee. You learn to Fence, exposing the smallest area of your body to attack. This equals a -1 to AC in melee with 1 slot devoted, or -2 to AC if 2 prof slots are comitted. On a personal note: I like these style specs, they can really help flesh out the way a warrior, er, anyone who fights, melees. Also, I was wondering what any of you think of this house rule. If a character wants to become proficient with a weapon outside of his 'normal' class restrictions he can by devoting more profs, equal to his non-proficient penalty. Example: If a mage wanted to become proficient with both a staff and sword he would have to pay 6 profs for both. The staff costs 1 because it is a common item to his class, thus 1 prof slot. The PH states that the mage can only use a couple of weapons because they are too buisy reading books and practicing memorization techniques. But this system would lessen the ammount of study time the mage would have and focus it on the weapon. The mage has a non-proficient penalty of -5 to hit. 1 Prof must be paid for every minus the character has, after this he is proficient with the weapon. This way a mage using a sword would have to spend 5 profs just to use a better weapon, a heafty price, but some would still pay it. The mage would be able to use the sword as well as a mage could, he still wouldn't have any better melee prowess save for the weapon. Tell me what you think, good or bad.
