Subject: Re: Ptah specialty priest
I get really annoyed with people who say "priests are useless except for
healing" and of course the poor sod who has to put up with playing the priest
because nobody else wants to. I had a player once taht was determined to find
the use for the priest.

My opinion is that a priest is a brilliant support character. It may not stand
in the thick of battle and fight, though it can, but it has spells that can
boost another players chance to hit, such as bless, aid, faerie fire, etc.
Command is brilliant, and my friend today use speak with animals and enthral
to stop a pack of dogs from ripping him apart. There is far more to the priest
than healing. Anyway, I find that the healing spells don't really heal as much
as they could. Cure Critical is only 3d8 and at that level fighters are on
like 50-70 hp. I boost the values up a bit as follows:

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8

Cure Moderate Wounds (S&M): 3d8

Cure Serious Wounds: 5d8

Cure Critical Wounds: 7d8

And then there is heal.

Darryl: I don't think the roof can support a mezzanine.
Steve: Shall I give him a call and tell him not to worry about the Spiral
	Staircase?
