I'm running a campaign that includes planers, spacefarers, Orientals,
westerners, and barbarians. the language barrier was neat for a few games, but
*I* started to get aggravated with keeping track of who-can-speak-with-whom.
Solution: an NPC Doppleganger interpreter/teacher. By using his innate ESP he
can correct students before they even finish formulating their thoughts,
cutting learning new languagues down to 3 weeks of study. Quite a few people
will probably find beef with this solution, but:
A) Dopplegangers are a major power IMC.
B) I made up the solution on the spot.
