Has anyone thought about using flying creatures as fighter "craft"?
You know: pegasi, dragons, rocs, etc. The "pilots" would need no
magical abilities, although wizard pilots that could cast spells could
be devastating. Sniping at crew with arrows and lobbing vials of greek
fire are possible non-magical attacks. Dragons, although rare,
obviously have deadly long-range attacks "built in".
The main problems I see right now are speed and air. The creatures
would need something like Haste potions to out run spelljammers. And
their personal air-envelopes don't last very long.
Solutions? Objections?
