Are you so sure about this? How about the ships they built from wood.
Not all of there ships are living.

This would depend on what type of belief system these particular Elves
have. Some may believe that once the spirit leaves the body then the
body is nothing but a shell. So why not use it. Remember not all Elven
Nations and/or groups will belief in the same values. They are just
diverse as Humans or any other race.
