here's a way to make a sphere unique.  Instead of having creatures
live on and travel around the inside of a sphere like it were a
planetary surface (another "unique sphere" idea) have them do so on
the outer shell, the phlog side.  make it a normal realm with normal
creatures just give them a substitute for day/night (maybe they don't
have one and plants draw energy from the phlog) and some way around
fire (maybe that part of their world is subshellian (like subterranean
but on the inside of the shell).
