Black Phlosgiston

Last time I posted something on this list, the dwarven hatchet for
those that doon't remember, it spun off rather quickly into a
discussion about new spells. On that thread here is something
completely off the wall. Just remember that everything I post is also

This area in the phlosgiston is thought to be a magic dead area. It
takes about 2,595 days to travel completely around. The
normal brilliant hues of the phlosgiston are an unnatural black. This
aera is actually a sarragosso sphere. Once entered the ship
drops out of spelljamming speed and is adrift. With non-magical
engines speed is at SR 1. At this speed it takes 5 months to
cross into the interior of the sphere, at a faster SR the time is
reduced by 2 weeks per SR. Once out of the magic dead area
the phlosgiston is a dark grey but magic will work and spelljamming
speed is possible. There are a few crystal spheres in the
grey phlosgiston. Some unusual properity of the grey phlosgiston
causes the shperes to become bright multicolored spheres
instead of the normal black spheres. It is within these spheres that
some very unusual discoveries have been made. For further
