	I have a device known as an amplification gun.  Each gun must be 
devised for a specific type of magic item (wands, rings, staves, etc.) or 
for spells.  The gun only works on attack spells that do damage.  It 
increases the range of the spell by drawing energy from the spell's damage.
	The gun increases the range of a spell to one hex at the cost of 
25% the spell's damage (rounding up).  It takes 50% of the spell's 
damage for two hexes and 75% for 3 hexes.
	The gun is only usable once per round.  It looks like a 2 foot 
metal rod with a globular sphere at the end.  The sphere has a hollow 
space large enough to insert the device the gun is built for (wand, hand, 
etc.).
