Nazis chaotic evil?  They had a dictatorship!  The elves are considered
chaotic and in the Monstrous Manual it says, "Elves value their
individual freedom highly . . ." This was not the case in Nazi Germany,
at least not what I hear from the americans.  It is one of the problems
with the alignment in AD&D.  Lawful is considered good and chaotic is
viewed as evil.  However, chaotic is described as valuing individual
freedom.

Especially due to that the goblins are evil. However what was meant to
be good has turned evil.  They are fanatics- redoubled for efforts but
lost their goals.  Right now I think someone should walk up to the elven
senate and set them straight!

As for good and evil.  Goblins are considered evil, for what, they will
kill just for the pleasure of it.  Lots of humans will kill just for the
pleasure of it, they call it hunting.  As for their tendency to spoil
their habitat, so did humans.
  Some may consider slavery as evil but it fits more with the
lawful/chaotic part of the alignment.  Chaotic societies believe in
individual freedom and would not have slaves, Goblins are lawful and
everything has its place in their society including the slaves.
  As for their appetite for eating humans and demihumans, they use all
the useful material from the game the kill, which would make them better
then some humans today.  All in all, the goblins do not appear to be an
evil race, merely a race that is very similar to a less developed group
of humans.

The true evil is the people that are organising a campaign of genocide
against these misunderstood, primitive creatures.
