I had this wonderful idea that I would create some additional
cardboard ships along the lines of the ones from the War Captains
Companion and the SJ DM screen. How simple it would be to just take
some of the profiles from the Ships Recognition Manual, make a
reverse copy (somehow) and paste them together on a base copied from
one of the WCC sheets that I never took apart. Right. That little
idea turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. Althought it
would be nice to have cardboard miniatures of such ships as the
Whalehship, Vagabond (that one should be easy), Leaf-ship,
Hummingbird (smaller but similar to the shirkship), Doombat and
Lanceship (from the Astromnudi boxed set), Eagleship and even the
three Vodoni ships. I DID however make a couple of "flat" ships that
I just made reduced copies, spraymounted using high-tac adhesive on
cardstock, and cut out. The ones I did were the:
Ogre Mammoth (Lost Ships, page 55)
Turtle Ship (Lost Ships, page 64)
Antlership (Ship Recognition Manual, page 6, did not reduce, love the
alien look)
Stoneship (SRM, page 45, also makes nice asteroid counters)
Unity Ship (SRM, page 50)
Urchin (SRM, page 51)
Kindori & Krajen (from the MC entry in the SJ boxed set, reduced 50%)
Dart (from someone's website, can't remember where I got the
original)
These made nice counters additions to the game. It would be nice if
someone with a nice scanner and drawing program that could take the
side views fromt the SRM and add the slide-in fins and black stand,
then rescan and post on one of the SJ websites. (yes, that would be
nice wouldn't it). Just an crazy idea from a derranged mind.
