I'm not a fan of PO, but I do have something to say here.

I assume that if he doesn't take this ability, he does not lose the limb,
only the retractable blades, right? In which case, xixchil surgery could
probably provide a weapon substitute on that limb. My other point being
that xixchil can't use other weapons in any case, only their blade claws
and additional weapon-limbs.

>Targets bitten must make a saving throw vs poison or be paralyzed for 1d4

You might want to keep the CSFH restriction, that the poison only affects
creatures of equal or lesser hit dice. Of course, that book allowed the
paralyzation to last for (IIRC) 1d4 turns, as well as having a deadly
variety. [shrug] JFTR.
