     I'm interested in knowing this as well - what if the "victim" is a PC
     who so happens to be wearing a Ring of Regeneration?

     I've had to adjudicate this just last night.  I figured that the HP
     drain effect would be reduced but not completely - but the victim
     still has to save versus death each day.

     (The nasty party, on realizing this, used one of the two drow captives
     for the "fuel source" but she died within a day, even with the Ring of
     Regeneration on!)

How would trolls work in a life jamming helm.?
Since they regenerate, would the helm be powered indefinitely.

Just a random thought, wanted some input.
