Well, their agenda in Clusterspace is detailed in the Astromundi
cluster, to be detailed after the next question.

No idea about the lifejammer, but Ao is overgod of Realmspace. His duty
is mostly to keep the gods of that sphere in check and elevate/demote
gods to the status they've earned (due to worshippers and other stuff).
His jurisdiction ends at the sphere, and he apparently answers to an
even greater power (as seen in the end of the Waterdeep novel).

So, that's enough. The Arcane has made a deal with the Tanar'ri to
arrange for them to get their hands on Clusterspace in return for
"trading concessions to be named later." They're trying to collapse one
of the suns (the large one) and use the power that generates to create a
gate to the Abyss - planar travel from the Abyss in Clusterspace is
notoriously difficult, due to some powerful enchantments.
