     Spell points?!  Haven't heard of this one (for aD&D anyways).  I think
     you're getting confused with another game system like RuneQuest.

     In aD&D, a mage gets 1d4 HPs per level (plus constitution bonuses, if
     any, and can get a few more HPs from having a familiar - if you're
     using the 1st Ed. version of familiars!).  The number of spells that
     the mage gets is based solely on level, though in the new Ed (2nd Ed.)
     (s)he may also get an extra 1 per spell level catagory if he is a
     specialist and chooses the extras from these spell catagory.

     BTW - most of your "mechanics" questions concern extremely basic aD&D
     concepts that are easilly answered by browsing the Player's Handbook
     (PHB) - from either the 1st Edition (about 1/2" thick) or the latest
     2nd Edition (about 1" thick).

     I suggest you get one of these as a MINIMUM, even before you indulge
     in SJing materials!!  They're not very expensive at all and IMHO
     mandatory for anyone who plays this infernal game ;-)!

     And 1 SR is about 17 mph (using the official rules in the basic SJ
     book "Concordance of Arcane Space").  IMC, I usually upgrade flying
     speeds a tad to make things a *bit* more interesting!

     (gad-zooks! I better duck behind my asbestos firewall now - who knows
     what I might have just started!?)

Could you please repeat how you figure hit points again?  Specifically for
mages, if you could.  I really need to keep a closer eye on my EMails, I'm
always deleting the important ones!
By the way, someone told me that a single SR equals around 17 mph.  Do I
remember right?
Could somebody tell me how you figure how many spell points a mage has?
