I would say that there is an infinite amount. As for the three major spheres - Realmspace, Greyspace, and Krynnspace - I would also heartedly disagree that they are major. I would say that the only reason that they are the most detailed is because they are the settings for three major AD&D worlds. They are, in my opinion, backwaters that just get a lot of traffic. I would say that the major empires would be the major spheres. The three spheres would be only considered major because they happen to be wedged between large empires.
