I checked my PHB last night, and contrary to my last posting (re:
cloaking ships using Mass Invisibility, which I identified as 4th LVL)
the spell is actually 7th level (i.e. right next to Limited Wish!).
My mage (Alex) actually cast it off a scroll. The area of effect is
given only in 2-D as "up to" 60x60 yards, or a maximum of 300 human
sized people. However, I can't see how a special "space" version of
the spell couldn't be derived which created a spherical effect (say
40-50 yard Dia) of about the same level.

Also (similar to Chris's comment about 10'r Invis) the Mass Invisibility spell
is deactivated ONLY when the spell expires OR the Mage attacks. Also, anyone
leaving the AoE becomes visible. However, as a DM, I have some problems with
allowing a SJ ship to remain cloaked during attacks. Perhaps the spell would
function similar to those cloaking devices on Star Trek, except that the 'cloak
would only come down AFTER the first attack, allowing a surprise attack.

I already used a similar thing IMC, where the Neogi had used a large Illusion to
make their Deathspider look like an Elven ManOWar, allowing them to get close
enough to the character's vessel to grapple it!

The Inviso 10ft radius will servive more than one attack. The mages that
will be station in certain locations through out the ship will not be
attacking the enemy so the Inviso 10ft radius will stay up.
