As has been pointed out allready, invisibility works on beings, not
objects. I'm sure someone could research a spell that allowed a ship
to remain unseen, probably a fairly high level spell though. How
about using a purely visual illusion? They can be quite large & last
as long as the caster concentrates. If the image of the ship were
overlayed with an image of blank space noone should see it or at least
it should be very difficult. It will also give you a few attacks
before your ship is pinpointed by the opposition & the illusion is
disbelieved.

Chris,
The spell doeasn't care about the mages any attack shatters the
spell. At a maximum stretch the *mages* might remain invisible until *they*
attacked but the ship, and crew (the weapon and the user of the weapon)
would become visible.
