As for the debate on cloaking ships, it has always been my belief that the
hallucinatory terrain spell was used.  However recently I picked up Issue
235 of Dragon Magazine, which has a large article on the Shipmage. Although
designed for groundling campaings, I can see no reason why it can't be
carried over to spelljammer.  The article includes a large supplement of
SEA spells, including spells such as "Shield Vessel" & "Otiluke's Screen"
which creates protective barriers surrounding the ship, and "Repair Breach"
which regenerates1d6+1 points of hull damage per level; to name just a few.
