That is why I wouldn't have larger ships. Instead of increasing Helm
capacity - I would design a new system of helms for these larger ship -
such as a link helm where multiple helms can be combined. As for food and
water - if an old ship could carry enough supplies to make a six month
trip to Australian then any reasonably size SJ ship could also. One must
remember that when spelljamming - air supplies, food and water play and
important part. I suggest keeping the huge ship in the realm of
superpowers, not PCs.
