Oh, I completely agree. The only time I can have any fun is if I throw out all the rules & just make stuff up. Besides, my 58,000 ton battleship with mystical death rays an impenetrable god-skin plating would kick your but up an down the spaceways. <further comments deleted> dts ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: [SPELLJAMMER] - Re: Capital Ships Author: Toby Mekelburg <toby@????.net> at Internet Date: 7/4/97 12:39 PM At 12:53 PM 6/28/97 -0700, Leroy Van Camp III wrote: > Right, but the cannonical design system does not take into >consideration something I am looking for in SJ: bigger ships >(i.e. capital ships). I basically ignored the fact that there were no ships larger than 100 tons(with the exception of larger citadels) and went ahead and designed the greathelms which are specifically created to power large ships. The biggest ship I've created is a 1200 ton carrier. I know some people are doing a double take on that, but I've always thought you shouldn't be constrained by the rules if you want to enjoy the game. "You can't do that because the rules say so!" just doesn't cut it for me. I based the ship on an AOL user's campaign he posted to TSR Online at AOL. He has a ship that is 2000 tons! As a side note, I enjoyed your post on the new ship construction rules.
