An Open Letter From Peter Adkison Hi, everyone! Let's take a minute to think about the Origins Awards. As you know, the games industry (both professionals and fans) annually votes an award for the best card game and role-playing game of the year, among many other categories. The awards are presented at the Origins convention in July in Columbus, Ohio. I encourage all of you reading this message to do your part for the industry and vote, if you haven't already* (and for those of you who have--good job!). This year, unfortunately, a number of fine 1996 products did not make it onto the Origins award ballot, some of them from TSR and at least one from Wizards of the Coast. If you agree with me that the products I've listed below represent excellence in their given categories, I encourage you to write them in! The deadline for submitting your ballot is July 1. Show that you care about supporting excellence in the games industry. Vote! Stay on target, Peter Adkison Best Roleplaying Rules Best Roleplaying Adventure DRAGONLANCE: FIFTH AGE Gates of Firestorm Peak Hellbound: The Blood War Best Roleplaying Supplement The Rod of Seven Parts Book of Magecraft I, Tyrant Best Game Accessory Player's Option: Spells and Magic CD-ROM AD&D Core Rules Wizard's Spell Compendium Faiths and Avatars MAGIC: THE GATHERING--Mirage Best Game-Related Fiction SPELLFIRE: Draconomicon Passage to Dawn SPELLFIRE:Nightstalkers Tangled Webs World Builder's Guidebook The Doom Brigade * Ballot available at TSR web site: http://www.tsrinc.com
