Then to "top out" of >their profession in wildspace, unless using rules to exceed level limits? > Roger Moore's scro article in the Dragon Annual goes on to state (p.52) "A >5th-level war priest with training as a necromancer and of wisdom of 18 would >then have 10 wizard spells (at least 3 of them necromantic) and 13 priest >spells - not bad!" >Then, they fill the upper ranks of the navy (ie. Magic may not be their best thing, but one of a few things scro have >up their sleeves to fight the elves. Sounds like I really screwed up not buying the Dragon Annual (cash was a little tight at the time). Did it have any other SJ articles? Was that where you got the "priests/mages stay at the homeplanet until 5th level" thing? I didn't find that in any of my sources (or i would have addressed it:)) I do think Elves should have a magic advantage, otherwise the scro would always kick their buts (the average Scro fighter is 3rd level, the average elf 1st, according to the MC entries). I think I might come up with a rank/force struggle article for the elves similar to what I've done for the scro. "We look on the same stars, the sky is common, the same world surrounds us. What difference does it make by what pains each seeks the truth? We can not attain to so great a secret by one road..."
